This is a true story of one family’s sudden and devastating journey into a shadowy and unknown world of traumatic brain injury. John was transported from Hershey Medical Center to Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Hospital here in Allentown Pennsylvania to begin his rehabilitation.

While John Di Biagio began his long miraculous recovery into intensive rehabilitation, his family kept vigil by his side at every moment from the time they learned of his accident through the long days and nights of his coma, and through every step of his recovery.

The family kept a visitor’s diary by his bedside, many of the entries are included in the book and are intended to express to the reader the uncertainty and hope that was felt by everyone through his recovery and rehabilitation. They are words of frustration, pity, compassion, hope, faith and most important love.
